Unlike other forms of Hypnotherapy, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) uses several aspects of Solution Brief Therapy (SBT) and combines the understanding of how the brain works in combination with trance. Trance is, of course, very ordinary in many ways. We go into trance many times a day quite naturally, when you drive your car for example, and you find that you’ve got from A to B without really remembering how you go there. Or, when you are participating in your favourite hobby, gardening, switching off, daydreaming, etc. it’s all a form of trance. Trance relaxes the body and the mind, improves blood pressure, and allows you to focus on the positive aspects that in turn shifts your perspective.

According to https://www.mind.org.uk/ 8 out of 10 people have anxiety and or depression; 6 out of 10 people suffer from general anxiety disorder (GAD); and 4 out of 100 people suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) - although I is believe those numbers might be depressingly higher.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy doesn’t require you to dig into the past, but focuses on the future, the positive aspects, best hopes, and is goal-oriented. The tenet of SFH is that small, tangible goals eventually make up to the bigger picture of being anxiety free!
